Our Teams

In the 2018 season, we fielded teams from U8 to U17 across boys and girls teams.  In 2019, we are expecting to field additional new girls teams in U18 and U14.

Coaches and team managers are assigned to each team.  Additional volunteers such as trainers, runners, and assistant coaches drive the support of the team.  Coaches and trainers are offered free certified training programs.  There are plenty of opportunities for parents to get involved with the team whether performing a permanent team role or weekly volunteer position such as goal umpire, timekeeper, umpire escort, or canteen helper.

Training days and times are set by the coach and will be available on the jetsjuniors.com website as soon as they are available in early 2019.  Many teams have carpools to drop off and pick up players from training.  Training typically begins in February/March which is 4-8 weeks from the start of the season.

The EFL season typically starts in mid April with teams playing 14 games in the regular season.  A bye is normally held over the Queens Birthday weekend and the regular season finishes in mid-late July.  Teams qualifying for finals may play up to an additional 4 weeks.

Our U8 to U10 teams are classified by the EFL as ‘Non Competitive’ where game results are secondary to having fun and player development.  These age groups also play by special rules where players are protected from tackling, can’t kick off the ground, and have limited bounces.  Scoring is also not recorded in these age groups.

Scoring, competition ladders, and finals are played from our U11 age group onwards.  Fixtures and results are available on the EFL SportsTG Website at efl.org.au.

The club provides an end-of-season presentation night for all teams where team awards and participation medals are given out.

Our U17 Boys and U18 Girls have a pathway to the Heathmont Jets Senior teams and are invited to train and try out with them in their final season.  The Seniors field both Women's and Men's sides, including a Women's Open age team, Men's First 18, Development Squad [Reserves] and Under 19's.
