I would like to welcome all our new and current members to the Jets. If you are considering our club to play at in 2019, our new website has all the information included to help you with your decision.
Our club works hard to develop an inviting, friendly, inclusive, and family environment for all. For children that want to play Aussie Rules, it presents a great opportunity to meet others and make ‘mates for life’ and a chance to develop skills beyond the playing field.
We are excited about the upcoming season as we continue where we left off in season 2018. We are very fortunate that many of our fully accredited coaches will be on board again next year to continue to develop the players in their charge.
We expect to field 14 teams in 2019 across all age groups. Girl’s football continues to see significant interest and we are pleased to announce we will be expanding our girls’ teams in 2019 with the introduction of U14 and U18 age groups.
The Jets are committed to player development and have successfully run programs over the last year including -
Our pre-season JetStart program kicked off in 2018 for our competitive age groups. A five week training course with professional coaches, senior players, and trainers will again be run in 2019. This proved to be very successful and popular with our teams.
We are pleased to announce our partnership with the South Launceston Junior Football Club. This year saw our youth teams travel to Tasmania for the inaugural Interstate Cup Challenge. We will be reciprocating this with South Launceston visiting us in 2019.
Our SALT (Sports and Life Training) sessions provide personal development and support conducted by a professional agency. Topics included drug and alcohol education, well-being, and mental health support. We have been rolling this program out over the past two years and we plan to cover more teams in season 2019.
All home games have the added support of a Professional First Aid Officer to assist the accredited trainers from not only from our club but the opposition, too.
Our club is proud of our players and we have seen representatives play EFL Interleague football from both our boys and girls’ teams. We have also seen some of our junior players drafted to the AFL and AFLW ranks over the past three years including -
Tom North – Fremantle
Nathan Mullenger-McHugh – Western Bulldogs
Jas Grierson – Melbourne/North Melbourne AFLW
Registrations open on November 1, 2018, and is free for new U8 players (+$15 EFL Insurance Fee). An expression of interest form is included in this pack. All new junior players also receive a free club hoodie or jacket. Registration fees for 2019 will be $200 and $110 for additional siblings (including EFL player insurance).
If you have any further queries regarding our club or registration, please email me at president@jetsjuniors.com.
We wish you and your families all the best for the year and look forward to an enjoyable and
successful 2019. I look forward to meeting you at our games.
Go Jets!
