Update On COVID-19 March 23, 2020
The Heathmont Jets Football Netball Club is committed to keeping its players, officials, members and supporters informed of all developments in relation to the impact of the COVID-19 virus (Coronavirus) on the 2020 Football and Netball Season.
This morning the Eastern Football Netball League (EFNL) issued the following statement:
Following yesterday’s announcement by the AFL to suspend the 2020 season indefinitely, the Eastern Football Netball League, Northern Football Netball League, Southern Football Netball League, Western Region Football League & the Victorian Amateur Football Association have collectively decided to postpone their respective seasons until May 31.
The Senior Community Leagues were united in their support of the AFL decision. The health and wellbeing of our players, coaches, umpires, volunteers and associated stakeholders remains our priority and we are committed to ensuring the long-term sustainability of all clubs.
We urge all associated with our respective communities to heed the advice and regulations that have been put in place by the State Government. All club training, events, ground and light usage remains suspended until further notice.
A further update will be provided following the Metropolitan League CEO’s meeting with AFL Victoria and our own EFNL Board meeting scheduled for Tuesday 14th April 2020.
Our Club will obviously continue to fully support this latest decision of the League, and will continue to ensure that we comply with all of the actions and advice from the League. COVID-19 is presenting many challenges across the country and the world. It is critically important that our Club and our members play our part to limit the spread and to support one another as best we can in these difficult times.
