It’s NAIDOC week this week, and the Jets have been very fortunate to have indigenous artist Miah Pearce create a beautiful design specifically for the club. We initially used this fabulous design to create a new beanie that launched in early in May and has proved very popular.
With new sponsors, Nunawading Rotary, coming on board and looking at ways they can support us, we decided to expand use of the design further, by creating a special training top for the Under 17.5 boys and a player jumper for the Under 18 girls. It is the first time since Covid that we have had these two teams, so we thought this situation called for something special.
The results are fabulous, as the pictures show.
We would like to thank Miah so much for her design which we also have framed in the social rooms.
Below is her explanation on what the designs means :-
This design shows the different connections, bonds and friendships that are made at the football club. How we are all different but yet on the footy field we are one. The gathering groups represent the different ages, teams, supporters, family, friends and club, joining together to build an environment that enables learning, development and team spirit. The pathways between them all show the steps and paths to growing not only bonds with different people in the club but the players skills and fitness.
