Paul Telford - Coach
Another challenging week where we were lending 3 players per quarter. As always, & as encouraged, the girls rostered to play for the opposition try their hardest & enjoy the game time.
It was a slow start where we struggled to get our hands on the ball first. The pre game message of ‘see ball, get ball’ was mentioned again during the ¼ time & ½ time breaks. To the girls credit, the listened & took the message onboard, plus worked harder on getting our centre bounce positions right that we had worked on at training.
This saw us get first use of the ball a lot more in the second half. In particular, the 3rd quarter, where we totally dominated possession.
The girls ran the game out really strongly & were actually getting better & better the longer the game went on.
There was some tremendous link-up play via handball again this week, so much so that the coach had to ask to see a kick after a few handballs! Great to see them sharing the ball though & bringing their other team mates into the game.
We saw running bounces, some tactical play out of the middle, quite a few marks & even a goal saving smother!
Once again, I saw improvement within individuals & as a team.
